Andrade Legal is pleased to welcome Chris Christensen back to the Andrade Legal team. Chris represented noncitizens in all types of immigration law matters while an associate attorney at Andrade Legal from 2009 through 2012. As a seasoned immigration attorney familiar with the firm mission and standards, Chris has been charged with launching and opening the firm’s satellite office in Ontario, Oregon.
Prior to his return, Chris continued serving non-citizens on employment matters in his capacity as the Director of the Migrant Farmworker Law Center of Indiana Legal Services. Immediately after law school, Chris clerked for the Honorable Darrel Perry on the Idaho Court of Appeals and reviewed almost exclusively criminal and Post-Conviction Appeals.
During law school, Chris completed an internship with Wiebe and Fouser, who had the Public Defender contract for Canyon County, and studied abroad in Brazil. He was a Teaching Assistant for the Legal Research and Writing program for two years, participated in National Moot Court and the Immigration and Tribal Clinic, where he briefed and argued a case before the Ninth Circuit, winning a remand for his client.
Chris has contributed numerous hours to improving access to justice in Idaho through his activities with the Idaho State Bar. Chris has taught continuing legal education courses on immigration law for the bar membership, he is a founding member of the Idaho Pro Bono Immigration Law Network, has been active in the Idaho Fourth Judicial District Law Day Celebration, volunteered for the Idaho High School Mock Trial Program, was past chair of the Idaho Young Lawyer’s section and has graded law school exams for four years. In 2010 the Idaho State Bar recognized his contributions to the bar and the delivery of quality legal service by awarding him the first Idaho Outstanding Young Lawyer Award.
In his free time, Chris enjoys tennis, skiing, bird hunting, backpacking, camping, and enjoying all of the outdoor activities Idaho has to offer.
