On January 15, 2012, President Obama announced that he was directing the immigration enforcement agencies not to deport undocumented individuals who were brought to the United States as children.  The announcment is designed to provide temparary releif to millions of youth who have grown up in the United States, consider the United States thier home, and often have no connectio to their native country.  Over the past few years this group, called DREAMERS after the proposed DREAM ACT legislation that would have granted these youth a path to citizenship have mobilized a grass-roots campaign to draw attention to their call for legalization including a “coming out” of hundreds of undocumented youth.

What does this announcment mean to undocumented youth? See PBS report.
