Prior to joining Andrade Legal, Benjamin worked and volunteered in different areas of immigration law. Most recently, Benjamin gained invaluable experience working on the United States-Mexico border as a law clerk at Casa de Proyecto Libertad, a non-profit in Harlingen, Texas. At Proyecto, Benjamin gained experience with U Visas, VAWA, naturalizations, and consular processing while also working on removal defense. During law school Benjamin conducted multiple interviews in detention centers screening individuals for relief and represented individuals in removal proceedings as a volunteer with the Immigrant Law Center of Minnesota Detention Project. Benjamin also was a judicial law clerk for the Executive Office of Immigration Review, the tribunal of immigration judges in Bloomington, MN.
As an undergraduate, Benjamin was an intern at Hispanic Advocacy and Community Empowerment through Research (HACER) research organization in Minneapolis, MN, and performed research related to immigrant communities in Minnesota.
In his free time, Benjamin enjoys hiking, playing basketball and exploring Idaho.
